Aqueduct "Sousi"

The red-brick aqueduct at Nazen-ji (Nazen Temple), Kyoto. It’s interesting because of the Western, almost Roman architecture here in the middle of Japan. I think it’s because it was built just after the Meiji Restoration, when Western influences started to take hold of Japan.

It’s quite beautiful. And there really is water running through it. Complete with carp.
